What I Want As An Athlete (Open Topic)

(link) - My brother who was also a college athlete sent me this video. I listen to this video in the mornings for motivation.

Recently I felt the pressure that I have to do more in my sport . I have discover that to reach my compacity of greatness I have to do more than just whats expected. I have to work over time. That might mean getting an extra lift in, doing skill training even if I have to do it alone. I have really thought about why I choose to continue to perusing Track and field. Its because I didn't really my  give my full effort to it high school. Track has given me so much, Its given me fulfillment, confident, taught me so many lessons; but I know theirs more I have to get from it.

I have looked at some the greatest athletes. The difference between them and everyone else is that they have incredible self motivation. They just don't want to be great they are deliberate with their intention to be great. I find this so inspiring and its my goal to seek out greatness through hard work and patience. I have been going to res rec to do med ball drills after practice, and asking my coach what I can do outside of practice to better myself .

My goal isn't to the best person to have ever. My goal is to be better than I was yesterday.  Every night I want to go sleep and truthfully say I did everything I could today to be just a little bit better.

Expectations For This Class

I expect to write about meaningful subjects. I want to show my passions and personality though my writings. I want to challenge myself to express true feelings and go beyond the surface level. I'm expecting to improve my communication through writing in this class by learning how to efficiently tell readers my thoughts and ideas. I predict I will leave this class with a new outlook on writing and gain skills that will benefit me in the future.

Challenges and experience at college

I would say my biggest challenge at college is managing my school work. I feel the work isn't necessarily  hard but its a lot. Keeping up with different classes at the same time can be overwhelming.  On a positive note I enjoy my freedom, I enjoy the relationships that I have built while being here. I think I'm growing as a person more than anything. I feel like I'm taking accountable for my own actions more than ever and I'm changing in the best way possible.
